'Fiddy' crystal variations?

I've just been sorting out someone's query about a DSN sapphire and the amount of distortion it gives, and I thought it might be useful to get a wider experience of what is generally thought as 'right' and what is acceptable for the distortion on these crystals.

Top is Sapphire, Bottom is Toughened Glass

I feel the sapphire here is quite acceptable and that some distortion is a feature of these watches, what do you think? Should they be distortion free?

There is a member on rg that posted some gen pics of his fiddy. Yes there should be some distortion, but not at the level I have on my dsn version. It cuts bits of the numbers off!!!
