Just because its on Chrono24 doesn't always mean its legit.

Some people who are just not paying attention or knowledgable to spot a rep and think what they have been sold is real get a shock when their item is in fact not genuine. With the quality of reps coming out these days being so close to the gen watches its easy to see how people can be fooled. Aside from that there are also people who know full well its a rep and are just trying to scam people who are trying to buy gen parts.

Bracelet codes are created by Rolex to designate the production year, and on earlier version the quarter of that year.

The Chinese then copy that bracelet code. Just because a bracelet code is used by a Chinese factory doesn't mean the bracelet is fake - the code exists, it's real, it was created by Rolex.

The bracelet is fake, but not because of the code that's been stamped on the clasp blade.

Obviously its fake

And what the fuck would you know about it ?

Nice profit too for the asshole selling it... All they needed to do is add a little plastic box. Because nothing says "this is a 100% genuine Rolex product" like a little plastic box.

How can you tell it’s a fake ?

The gen in the 2nd pic is polished to hell lol
Hope its a good deal hehe

To me the tells are subtle.
The stamping isnt as crisp and clean, coronet is wrong, ridges are slightly off, the safety clasp is slightly off, which is a tell for the clasp.
For the rest, and because its SEL its all I need, the material cross-cut on the end links is wrong, the edges of the end links are much rougher than they should be and the etching is off, including the coronet.

Im sure I missed something too.

Scary that this is from a professional dealer.
Could also be that the "dealer" isn't intentionally selling fakes, but simply doesn't know his stuff. Nowadays, there's tons of people on the interwebs / Instagram / YouTube / TikTok who fancy themselves expert dealers in vintage Rolex and whatnot. As Napoleon Bonaparte famously declared: 'Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence'

Very true - the c900 positive reviews does back that up.

I had my eye on a bundle of used gen rolex parts on chrono 24 but not too sure if it's worth the risk.

I don't trust Chrono 24 anymore - and NOT to suggest they are doing this intentionally, there just seem to be too many fakes getting through, as EvilGenius suggests. I have seen this too many times and it is indeed scary.
