You're right Lup that could be a potential scenario. I just really dislike people intentionally selling reps for gen price. In the end it makes us rep owners look bad.

Who cares whether he was duped or not?
If it's fake, he should be reported.

How sure are you guys of this? If I report it to Purists Pro I need to 100% certain.
Tell me exactly why it's fake.

It's all in the dial mate. H factory is famous for their r_ai. The spacing is correct but font is wrong R should be almost touching A. This was addressed in multiple posts including the guide... Not sure if its frankened up 380 or str8 up rep. 100% sure that's not a standard gen 380 dial.

I concur with Komodo1.

I also think it's suspect that he doesn't have a straight up dial picture.
At the very least, suspicion can be raised on that, given the # of replicas of Panerais.

It seems really a rep

Curiously the pics are taken with the hand hiding the "R" font and the other pic has a very inclined angle. The CP seems good but can be a polished CP

Anyway, I have superimposed the PANERAI inscription of a H maker and a GEN, and you can see that the H maker is the same, but GEN inscription have some differences in "R" an R_AI

Please note the alignement of the "R" end and the "notch" of the "R" marked in yellow

The inscriptions GEN and H maker seems a little thinner because they have decreased opacity to get superimposition.

Caseback is good but has different fonts. Please see STAINLESS compared to gen, besides this engraving is a little far from the line of change brushed-polished. Anyway nice caseback and good pic angle to enhance the deepth of the engraving.

Without a front view od the "R"without hiding hand, we cannot be completely sure, but most likely it is a H maker with polished CP.

What a level of quality in these replicas PAM 380 !

Thanks ALE, Purists have been alerted, no doubt one of their own Pam experts will have a look. Hopefully we save some poor sod from getting scammed and/or (if he bought it as a gen) the seller from damaging his reputation.

Well done lads.

Well, but yes as you mentioned on the other thread, maybe he's been had.
