Soooo, according to a post here from 2008 that I just read today, lol (despite being a member here for a number of years), evidently fake "gen" parts in blister have been a thing to "watch" (no pun intended) out for, for a couple of years. I've recently been buying parts advertised as gen in blister on ebay, Chrono 24 and RWI for an upcoming SH3135 116610ln build......crystal, date wheel and reversing wheels https://imgur.com/a/7q3KJZS Just wondering if anyone here has ever gotten fake parts advertised as gen in blister? Evidently, we need to be just as careful when buying gen parts as we are when we buy gen watches from a source other than an AD or watches advertised as frankened. Just a heads up!

Thanks, Mike! I should have clarified that the pics are photos of what I bought as "gen" parts. And,believe them to be gen. Photos were for folks to see the difference between blister packs and for the experts out there to critique.

The green/white packaging is legit. Generally, I would not stress about that type of packaging, at least in my opinion (I’m not an expert). So far I haven’t seen a fake vintage style blister in this style.
I’d scrutinize the generic packaging with printed stickers adhered to it. Again, I don’t know enough to comment on them to say yours are good or not. It’s actually pretty easy to find generic Rolex movement parts that are Swiss made and pretty darn good quality. For instance: https://www.watchmaterial.com/rolex-parts-aftermarket/
Many of these products come in generic blisters with stickers indicating what they are. I could imagine some unscrupulous person replacing with a Rolex sticker.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more specific help. But I’d offer up the same advice everyone gives, but the seller and if it’s too good a price to be true, it isn’t.

Sorry, but I haven't understood...
Are you sure the parts you bought are fake parts (and if, why?), or you're just having a doubt about it?

Many sellers remove or blur the QR code and description so that Rolex doesn't track/catch them. Using factory original Rolex packaging to sell fake parts "may" happen but not that prevelant. As a rule of thumb:
  1. I look for parts that still have the full Rolex stickers with product description and QR code.
  2. I go back to my preferred seller(s) on Ebay. The guy I buy from generally is 10-20% more than other ebay sellers but I get the assurance of gen
  3. My watch maker also inspects and lets me know when "suspect". So far after purchasing over 500 parts, I am yet to receive a single complaint.

Thanks, Dragon. No. I don't think that the parts that I posted pics of are fake, but that I was open to the opinions of the experts here. I was just pointing out that gen parts in blister can look different (old/new stock) and, that we need to be careful when buying parts advertised as gen. That's all :D

Many thanks, srhoque! Excellent advice for folks buying gen parts.
