ETA2836 with GMT viable purchase?

Hi there,

I have a GMT Avenger II with a cloned 2836 that has some issues. The seconds hand stops every once in a while and instead of servicing it I want to put in an ETA movement in it and read the GMT function isn't native to the ETA.

Will this ebay movement work?

That’s not a gen ETA, it is the same clone that is in your watch now.

But the concept would work, correct? I just have to find a real ETA.

Yes, you can source a gen eta 2836 and have a watchmaker install the Asian gmt module, or you might find a gen that’s already been converted. Try helenarou.com, they’re the only place in China I’d consider buying a gen Swiss from, and I’m not 100% sure I trust them either.
