Eta spares

it seems ETA (swatch group) are now starting to squeeze the spares supplies on their movements. This is part of Swatches overall game plan, which is to pull away from supplying any independents of their movements. Swatch continue to supply there own group brand names such as Longines etc, etc

a recent court ruling is allowing Swatch to restrict supplies of spares.

most material houses will no longer be getting spares off eta and indeed certain parts are now showing out of stock. For instance, Cousins, now show all 28-- series complete balances as "obsolete"
which means all other ETA spares will eventually go the same way.

As swatch also own Omega, they will restrict these movement parts also. I was aware of this, however I was not aware they would also be restricting Omega case parts as has been reported recently.

i think this report is correct as it does fit in with Swatch's business model. Look towards TAG and LVMH for a glimpse of the future.
