Here might be an alternative for those interested in a Gen SWISS ETA Chrono movt with a 7750 dial layout but are on a budget... ETA Caliber C01.211, a fifteen-jewel, 3Hz movement with a 46 hour power reserve.

This movt can be had for as little as $237-260. It is found in the new Swatch Auto Chrono, http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=swatch+automatic+chronograph&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=lk4kTPOyA8HpnQe0y4nRBA&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCUQrQQwAA

Only 3 Htz? event by the mid 1800's watchmakers were producing movements with 5 and 6 htz balance wheels.

For $3-400 I wouldn't expect COSC accuracy from my movement. I'd be shocked if we see this movement in a Rado, or Longines. Even in Hamilton, but they may slip it in there at the lower end. It is probably good enough for Tissot and Swatch.

Time will tell whether friction has its way with them. Let's have faith in the engineers, I say.

This is really a low cost mechanical chronograph movement. Nothing wrong with the accuracy but don't expect this to be fitted to a more "high end" brands.

So far I have seen it on Swatch (priced at around 500SGD) and not yet on Tissot.

Again, I posted this for those interested in modding and are on a budget. Considering it's 2/3 the price of a 7750, it's gen ETA and it still retains the 6,9,12 lay out, it might be a cost effective alternative.
