Maybe it's been discussed before. But I will post a link here for you to reference if you have questions on swapping these. The dial and hands fit and sizes are identical. Parts are somewhat interchangable with the exception of a few gears. I was going to copy the post and put it here but it is not my work and I did not obtain the permission to copy. PW is mentioned in the threads so he may be able to ask the permission to vette the article here.

So ST24 = ETA 2824 base and a ST26 = ETA 2892 base

Interesting read. I checked it out the other day after discovering an ST24 in my new "swiss" UPO.

Turns out the ST24 isn't too shabby after all. Just got mine through the 2nd 24-hour adjustment run as dead-on accurate.

Thanks Hu, I am feeling really good about these too, if the price is right.

Is the ST-26 a newer designation? I always thought the ST-18 was also the 2892 copy, I suppose there are variations.

Thanks for the info R2.

Cybee, IDK, I have had others ask the same question. If Pugwash were still an active member here I would ask him to chime in since he is a member over on TZUK.

i said it before...

ETA has sold their old ( extreme top notch - not asian made - !!! ) CNC production machines to asia.

or to Russia....and they sold them to COMMUNIST CHINA .....of course they signed agreements not to feed the illegal ( replica ) watch market.

in times of ZERO TOLERANCE CNC production....a watchmovement ..... like 2824.... is - tolerance and quality wise...

childsplay.

How do you get these anyway? With the ETA phase out, would these be readily available for consumers so that we can just swap these if the first ones break?
