Educate me, what am I missing about this 6152/6154 on ebay?

I agree.
Cortebert movement is pretty expensive, not sure about the other parts, case looks like a reshaped DSN case with drilled lugs, but I have a lot learn so take my words with a grain of salt.

In any case 2000 GBP is about the highest price I have seen so far so I would be very careful.

Pocket watches with a Cortebert 616 movement can be picked up off of eBay for $150-200.

Very misleading to say 618 along with 616 in his ad header. The 2 movements have very little in-common parts wise as the parts are not interchangeable and one design did not lead to the other.

I agree with bob. This piece looks nice but the ad is completely full of up selling and the price is ludicrous.

I never had any intention of buying the piece, I don't understand how a replica of a very expensive gen can be sold openly on eBay though

That is what I think as well. It looks like one from there. If one of the regula HF guys are here, they can probably verify. Not sure why they list the 618 as it is definitely a Cort616 and at most that movement is about $350.00 USD in regular working condition.

and that first picture in the body of the listing showing the movement looks like a 616 with one of the Rolex engraved bridges your can buy from one of the HF guys. not sure if they are just comparing to their watch for sale which has the cort616 starting on the second photo in the body of the listing.

Agreed, this are REALLY nice parts. This is definitely not a DSN case. Plexi, crown, dial, and hands are top shelf. Is the price high? YES! But high to whom??? An HF member who could easily assemble this watch for $1000-1200? Or the gen collector that would love to live his fantasy of owning one of the rarest of the rare Panerais and is willing to accept a top notch homage at a minuscule fraction of the cost.

The seller is sketchy with his description. He should be more clear that this is a homage. The thing I would for sure do differently would be to use a MARINA MILITARE dial to make it a true homage.

Some skilled vintage builders have become aware that selling their watches on the rep forums is not necessarily the best way to compensate for their costs and talents.
