Edit Existing Post/Reply

normally there’s an ‘edit’ option somewhere on your own posts, but i do not see that anywhere in any of my posts.

is this because I’m new and there’s a ‘probationary’ period before i could edit my posts? Or i have to post a certain number of times before it gets activated?

Or something else?

I don't think Supporters can edit posts, at least I can't

Ooh I never knew that. I've noticed a time limit on PM messages (I think...) but not in the regular forum areas.

If there is one, it must be a bloody long time limit... I just went back to my "1675 adventure" OP and I can still edit that...

You just don't know how to.

Are you on a mobile device? Do you see the report button on the bottom to the left of every post? To the right of that, there are 3 dots "°°°". Click on the dots. Now a fold-up menu should open. Hidden in there is the edit option. Click on "edit" and voila, your post enters edit mode...

Indeed, on the desktop version, there should also be an "EDIT" button next to the report-button for you as a supporter, but it's somehow missing for you.

Maybe @daytona4me knows if is this a known glitch in the forum software?

Excellent question and 1 I thought of yesterday. I pasted a link that was not exactly what I wanted but couldn't find an edit option.

I just tried the 'report' option mentioned but there are no 3 dots. Maybe editing is not allowed for regulars like me, or newbies?

@Jossé and others having a problem with the lack of the edit button. You should get a hold of trailboss99 and he will fix the problem for you. I was having the same problem last June and he fixed it for me.

He means you need to upgrade your account to Supporter or Patron.

One of th admins had to manually update my account. I don’t have the edit option even after renewing my Supporter status.
