Ebay cartier roadster suspicious price

Hi everyone , I was looking for a gen watch on ebay , since i want to buy the cartier roadster with diamond bezel. So after a bit of searching found this watch.

Here is my question. Why is this watch cheaper than other roadsters that dont have any diamonds. Heres a picture of the watch im looking for.

Ofcourse the Roadster xl is more expensive, but as you can see the other one has alot more diamonds than this one, and by alot i mean alot , i mean just look at it damn. Why is it so cheap then ? Is it possible that the full diamond watch is kind of a scam? And if is not . Is it a good idea to buy the watch , and sell the strap? ( because obviously i dont want it all iced out ) what do you guys think???

There´s big differences in the size of the diamonds used on these watches. The cheapest one has really small stones. Remember that Cartier is a jewellery brand first, and a watch brand not even second.

Cartier is credited as the first to make the wristwatch both fashionable and functional. They've produced fine Swiss watches for over century and all are renown for their workmanship and beauty. Cartier IS a watch brand and a Cartier watch is fine jewelry.

Anything Cartier with diamonds will be high quality and priced as such. Cartier doesn't use cheap stones in their jewelry. Nor does Tiffany.

With that said, if it's made of steel, has cheap stones and branded as a Cartier, it's either custom set or fake as fook.

I´m going to have to disagree with much of what you write here. They use synthetic stones. They have produced most of their pre-80´s jewelry and watches in "budget" versions. The watches used to be more accessories than actual watches, and the movements were(some still are) not what should be expected in this price range.

You are certainly free to disagree. Almost all full diamond encrusted watches are handset by a master jeweler, regardless of brand. These Roadsters did not come iced from Cartier. If they did, value cant be questioned and could cost upward of 40-60k. It will include all its paperwork and ownership records.

A reputable jeweler will never sell a fake watch. But "new" and "genuine" do not mean the watch is original or the stones were set by Cartier.

Also most diamond encrusted watches lose value because they are customized. There are plenty of 20k watches with 20k of custom diamond work, but cost around 12k in the used market because they are not original and are worthless to high end collectors. But rappers love em.
