eBay: “everything is 100% authentic”

I found a gen explorer ii dial on eBay. Listed: new/unused. It’s not in the blister pack and has two sub optimal photos of the face in a plastic box.

Question: “could you post some images of the dial outside of the plastic and back of the dial so that I can evaluate for flaws and authenticity?”

Reply “Yes, once payment is made we will provide additional photos. Everything is 100% authentic”.

WTF?

I did not pursue it. After multiple emails, they finally added better pictures. But that point I was done.
