Dumb movement decorations (eg: PAM 569)

I dont understand why the manufacturers put in these dumb movement decorations. Even a slightly trained monkey will spot such absurdities... They serve no useful purpose, rather, contribute to flaws, failures and frustration.

Before continuing further, big thanks to @chris3007 for his tutorial https://forum.replica-watch.info/th...n-at-a-pam389-a7750-movement-tutorial.205473/

That tutorial is the closest I can find to actually guide regulation of the 569. The "brilliant" designers of this contraption decided to hide the regulation lever under the absurd decoration. So, I have to remove it. I removed rotor and 2 of retaining screws as per the above mentioned tutorial. Photos follow.

Problem: the third screw spins in its place. It still retains the decoration, spins freely, doesnt come off.

Any ideas on how to remove that offending screw?

If I succeed in removing the screw, can I put the rotor (whose bearings are well oiled with "zero friction" gun oil, to reduce its propeller noise) back in without the absurd decoration?

Much appreciate responses, and I will increase "Post Ratings" for any and all instructive replies :)

Rodico.

The deco screws are just that, deco screws, they serve no other purpose. You would have to glue it back in anyway with some sticky material.
However, you should use the proper oil for the rotor bearings or you risk ending up with more problems than before if the oil starts creeping into other parts of the movement. Moebius 9010 for example.

Thanks buddy. Your count is now +10

The deco screws, I either lost them, or will throw away what I have. How do I get that 3rd screw out out?

You can put the rotor back on without the deco plates but the problem Chris mentioned will still be there then.

The deco rep rotor sits high above the actual movement in order to fit the deco plate between the rotor and the movement. I bought a 25$ 7750 rotor, will remove all decoration from the movement en fit that rotor.

If someone is interested in the deco plates + rotor, let me know

I managed to remove the screw with pressure. The thread had stripped. Put original rotor back and all, and tried to regulate. Got it to about 2s/d.

Then put cover back on, gave watch a good wind (60-70 turns). It now runs +1m/d face up and -1m/d face down! Wonder what could have gone wrong.
