Can anybody fill me in on how to use the ducktape caseback removal. My brand new Davidsen 177 has a blue screw falling out of the middle bridge. I don't have a tool to remove the display back but I have been told this will work. I want to fix it myself instead of sending the POS watch back to Davidsen. I'm getting real tired of that!!

Make a roll of tape with the sticky on the outside. Like a tube. Make it large enough to get some good contact on the caseback. hold watch and twist. The sicky will grab and there you have it.

let us know how Davidsen handles it rogerwine. Since I'm contemplating on getting the 177h.
Try WD40 on a paper towel to get that tape smuck off the watch!
Good Luck! 8)

I was thinking of getting a 177 too. It seems like his quality is suspect right now. I thought he had a good reputation for building quality stuff. All these problems are making me think twice about it. Am I wrong in my assessment?

Well like I said I got the screw back in with a smidge of loctite to keep it in and the caseback is on and all fixed. I was joking about getting the tape off the back! LOL. The issues with the 177 are; The Luminor and Marina on the top of the dial are stacked to close and not relaxed enough, other then that the dial numbers and markers, while being a little too thin are Ok, the color is right on and the lume is very good. The Crown is too thin, the CG is very good. The case is very good as well as the display back and movement.Crystal and AR are very good. One of the band lug screw holes stripped immediately ( Thats why he sends spring bars along) and it happened on the 082 as well. The watch keeps great time. I've got it on a light brown Sharkskin Toscana and I'm keeping it and it will be a daily beater for me.
