I bought the Tag Grand Carrera rep in pics couple of years ago but it has been sitting in the drawer. Now I accidently found it and started to wonder what is the movement in that. Any ideas?

Yes, the decoration is very good and the whole watch looks and feels like like a gen... I think I bought it from some secret store in the basement of HongQiao Pearl Market

I haven't seen this kind of TAG elsewhere so probably they are not available so broad... the store I bought it was one of those well hidden quality rep-shops used by flight captains and cabin crew members. The difference to gen seems to be that in this one the date is set by using pusher and not with the crone. I can't figure out how to set the 2nd time... I know that it is possible because I set it once to match with China :D

I have to think about it, the watch is little bit too big for my wrist and that is why I haven't used it at all

Looks like a 21j movement. Does the small handset at 6 do anything?

It is the second time zone. Somehow you are able to set this but not sure how. If you just adjust the main, also the time in second dial changes accordingly... but there is also some way to adjust second dial separately

Are the two small hands at a fixed angle? I'm guessing that it's a 24 hour dial which they have made to look like a second time zone. Does it advance in unison with the large hands?

The small dial is also 12 hours and minute hand is fixed to main minute hand... but there is some trick to stop the small hour hand when you adjust the time. In the first picture you can see that the difference between main- and sub-dials was 5 hours and now I managed to get them to show same time (check the attachment)

Most likely the first click out on the crown where you set the date is also how you set that. Try turning it anticlockwise.

I was also expecting that but weirdly the first click position does nothing... only the second click position adjusts the hands. And date is set with the pusher.

Are you sure it's a 12 hour hand and not a 24 hour hand? A 24-hour hand would explain why it only lines up once per day.

But regardless it's a pretty sharp-looking watch.

hands are going together and if I adjust the subdial hour hand to match with the main hour, the hands are in matching position in both dials at any time of day. Yes, its 41mm which is not a problem but watch has quite big lug2lug length: 53mm
