Hello guys,

I contacted DSN too befor making any purchase with other dealers.

He gave me very good offer to two PAM pieces:

My final decision is to get a PAM 183 with brown dial and a 104 black one.

David confirmed me that he sells the watches with asain 6497 respective asian 7750.

Are these movmts good or there exists other ones to these reps? (of course the swiss ones are out at the moment)

Now I'm awaiitng David's info regarding the mods performed int the price offered.

On more question to be answered: VAC is offering me the 104 with his mods with an aprox 2,5X higher price but with same movement.

Can you please advise me whether is worth or not from the quality point of view?

Normally if you guys confirm me that VAC' is MUCH more better I'd be disposed to pay the higher requested price.

Thanks for your advices.

Get the 104 ultimate. It will be around 400. But ts miles a head if Dsn. Add lume a t48 and you are probably close to vac price

I had the same choice for my 111. In the end I went with vac. It's more expensive but the list of mods is impressive and I wanted a watch that I didn't have to do anything else with when I receive it.

From the price of one VAC rep I could buy two DSN ones..

It can be such diference in the quality and the mods?

If you guy put your votes to the Vac one I will know what to do.

So thats the final point??

Man get what YOU will be happy with. If the small flaws don't bother you get 2 dsns.

For example. I'm anal with my watches so I will go that extra mile and spend that extra money. That's bc it bugs me.

So do what you wan man and what will make you happy

I want my reps to be as good as possible so I'd rather pay the extra but it's all about balance. Little Hero does the very best panerai reps but for the money you could buy 2 Vacs!

However you'll still find plenty of people happy with their $100 pams. It's all in the detail and the more you pay the higher the accuracy so it all depends whether you can live with big faults or minor ones.

That's the point.

And in relation with it my question was referring to the differences in flaws between VAC and DSN for a noob.

In the meantime I read some reviews from DSN's purchases and in some cases there came out problems with the crystal, the CG pin polish, lume, strap, etc...
In VAC's corner not a single complaint....

So in summary VAC's mods are more ahead of DSN's in quality but DSN's watches' price/value in some cases can be good enough.

From what I understood DSN is the best rep compared to even the best standard reps offered by the trusted dealers but still a way short of vac and LH.

Like you I read about some of DSNs QC complaints and that in itself was enough to make me go for vac.

Yeah, definately thats the most significant point to decide in favour of VAC, no matter how expensive is in a way.

Thanks for your comments Ply.

I should get my vac 111h in the next week so I'll post a review when it comes, that might help you decide. I'm hoping it's going to be great!

Over time the small things really start to matter. I bought a cartel and was very happy with it to begin with and now saving up to send it to Vac. He gave me a quote on what it would take to make it an ultimate++. I was recently privy to trying on a limited edition panerai ( only 100 made of this model ) and besides the shine on the ss nothing else on my carter even came close to the gen in terms of quality. You will eventually want it as perfect as possible. I regret not taking a few more months to save up for a vac and end up up wasting a couple of hundred $$$.

Looking forward to this :)

My vac arrived yesterday, I'll get some pictures and a review up asap but it was money well spent that's for sure. I'll go into details when I get the chance to but the fit, finish, feel are all excellent and well over and above a standard TD rep.

The way I look at it, is it all boils down to how YOU feel. I have a couple DSN's and im extremely happy with them. Yes Vac's are better, but I'm not buying a rep in order to walk into a Authorized Dealer and be like "LOOK AT MY REP!" I'm buying the Rep simply because I love the look and design of the watch, but I obviously don't want to pay the thousands its costs.

It's all honestly relative to how you feel like I said. I can almost asure you that 99% of people will never know you have a rep on. Think about it. THere are roughly 25,000 members here. That means 25,000 people (probably less) in the entire world MIGHT be able to the tell the difference between a rep and a gen.

In the end, to each their own. COLDI seems to want his reps to be as perfect as possible, which is cool, but clearly costs some more cash. I on the other hand am almost completely happy with factory DSN's, the only thing I did was remove the AR (did it myself) and replace the crown (t48).

Decision has been made.

Just sent payment to VAC for a PAM 104 with black leather straps.

Thanks for all your comments.

I will post pics when available in its section.
