(Updated with QC Pic) DSN New Borns....Anybody got one? Which would you go with?

I have about $300 burning a hole in my paypal account right now and I have been craving a new PAM. Anybody got one of his new offerings?

I am leaning towards one of these three. I am not much for modding as I don't expect a rep to be perfect.

1. 201a - http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/new-born-pre-v-5218-79158

2. 202a - http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/new-born-5218-202a-79929

3. 360 - http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/new-pvd-360-with-new-78138

Couple of my thoughts and concerns about the options:

I have never owned a PVD watch before. Is it easy to scratch up?

Also, I am not a big fan of the Marina Militare on the 202a dial, so I would prefer the 360 because of this. But, I would ask him to put the newer crown and CG pictured in the 202a on the 360, or I probably wouldn't want it.

So I guess if the PVD options aren't the best, I wouldn't complain about the 201a. What do you guys think? Which would you pic?

I recently got a "new breed" 112h to try it out. Not a bad watch. Still needs work. If your not into the roller ball CG get one.

One thing to remember, DSNs watches come with high beat platinum movements. Not the low beat time bombs in the new h factory reps.

Noob questions....roller ball CG? What is it, what's the difference?

And I am assuming the low beat time bomb means they are prone to failure where DSN's movement is not.

Correct on the movement from what I've heard. The Gen is high beat BTW.

The newest Pams have a little roller on the crown gaurd lever so the part that contacts the crown rolls.

Actually..., right now I have a 3 month old DSN24D (beautifull despite the wrong lug profile) in the watch smith because it died. Apparently there is a gear that has the wrong thickness and does not engage well, so i am replacing it an am doing a full workout on the watch just in case...

Just realized about the paypal, but not a big deal. Thought about a submersible, but I think I am going to get the 360 as long as I can get it with his newer double seal crown and the thicker CG. Sent him an email this morning, butithik it's only like 7 am in hong kong right now.

I pulled the trigger and its on its way to the US.....here is Davidsen's QC pic. I am pretty pumped up. Got a new Kain Heritage strap on the way for this and I am working with Crocodile for a custom creation strap for it too.

What do you guys think?

Looks good! His is the best 360 so far. Lume and case color are very good.

Can't wait to see it. I am leaving for vacation the 30th so I hope I get it before I go.

This is the Kain strap I have coming....

I have Davidsen's 360 and it is a thing of beauty! Do be careful: the PVD scratches pretty easily if you are a bit of an oaf--such as I am. I also bought one of the DLC 026 everyone was raving about--and I too love it. I managed to put a little nick in the DLC coating on the crown guard the second day I had it! !@#$%^& And DLC is supposedly significantly tougher than the PVD coating. I must admit that I tend to forget to take my watch off when I start using chain saws and the like. Not very smart.

Be prepared: you MUST buy a nice strap for the watch. Go to one of our strap makers and spend $75 or more. The strap makes the watch. I've dealt with Savage and with Gunny. Both make beautiful straps and are great to deal with. I'm sure the other vetted strap makers also make beauties.

.....OK, you posted the pic. of the strap seconds before my strap comments. You obviously understand :)

I completely understand the strap theory....it's like buying a really nice rifle and putting a cheap scope on it. I just can't wait to try out different combos on it. I have about a half dozen decent custom straps already, a couple nice rubber straps including an Isofrane(most comfortable strap ever) and couple natos/Zulus by default.

Nice choice! I recently received the 218a Slytech and I love the PVD color. As others have mentioned before the need for a decent strap, so I am now waiting on my strap so I can actually wear it!
