Hey all. I just got my first Panerai last week from Davidson. I am obsessed with it and couldn't stop looking at it all weekend. There are a couple of small concerns I have and I was wondering if it is a big enough deal to ask Davidsen to fix them. The main thing that is bothering me a little is that the lever on the crown guard is pretty loose. It secures tightly, but once it is open, it kind of flaps around. Second off, there is a small smudge of dirt that is visible on the movement. It is not extremely apparent, but I feel that anyone looking at the watch might wonder why a gen's movement is dirty. And last, i think he accidentally sent me a black leather strap instead of the rubber strap that was supposed to come with it. Anyways, please provide me with some feedback- I know i am being a little bit nitpicky, but since this is my first pam rep, i dont know what to expect and wanted to know what you all thought about it. Anyways, thanks so much for your help! Look forward to chatting with you!

1. All rep CG levers are floppy. There are a few threads out there about ways to modify that. There is no "fix" that DSN will do for that issue.

2. If it's a dirt spot on one of the bridges, just open the case back and clean it off with a lint-free cloth or something.

3. I didn't know any of DSN's watches come on rubber straps. Every watch I've ever gotten from him came with one or two leather straps. The rep rubber PAM straps suck, IMO.

So, to sum it up, no I don't think you should try to send it back. Why risk customs problems over a couple of very minor issues?
