Hi Guys,
I have a DSN Pam that was purchased in March. This is a lovely piece and I never had a problem, but when I was winding the watch this morning I noticed that one of the big screw cam loose. It's just dangling.
My question is whether I should send it back, or whether I should try to fix it myself.
Thanks.

First off what is "the big screw"??

Pictures help to say a thousand words. So maybe you can take a good picture of it.

Lastly, if you are calling a watch part a "big screw", then it may be best to send it out for repair.

That screw marked with a line to it's right is loose. Will take better pictures when I get home. I am just worried it falls off and messes up the watch even more.

Hmmmm, not a major repair, it wouldn't seem. However, that may be just the first problem to "show itself". I'd have it repaired/inspected by a proper watchsmith...

If you feel comfortable taking a watch apart, that is an easy fix, unless the screw is stripped. Just take off the back and screw it back in. If it is stripped, then you will want to talk with DSN or a repair guy.

I had exactly the same problem. Just take the watch to a near by watchsmith and it will be an easy fix.

It was a plug, not a screw and it was held in there by a drop of super glue!

response: good explination for latest price increases...

If you don't have the proper tool for removing the back of the watch, then use the duct tape method. Put a big gob of it together and press hard and apply torque as you try to unscrew the case back with the gob of tape. It will work. Then with a very small screwdriver just screw it back in. I had the same problem with a DSN 177. It was my 1st personal fix and it felt good to do it.
Good luck with it.
