For me to be clear, what movement is in this watch? How much power reserve? Does it wind as you wear it? Like a Rolex?

I've had mine for a day and it dies over night. I don't know how many times to wind it to get it to power. Don't want to over do it.

It's a 6497 manual wind. I would guess 48 hours power reserve.

You carefully wind it till you feel resistance.

Hey,

If you bought the Swiss version, then it's a 6497 Swiss. You have to hand wind this movement to get a reserve of power from it. At full wind, 48 hours is a good reserve, but average is 24-36.

This is not like an automatic movement where the more you wear it, the more it "charges" as in a Rolex. You have to hand wind this one. A good tip imo, is to wind it in the morning before work/school and then again at night before bed. This makes sure you always have a good reserve and also helps to avoid thinking "did I wind it too much?" because it is usually only half as many times needed.

How many times to wind at one sitting can vary. I would say at a dead stop that 20 times around will provide a good charge. Just wind it, till you can't wind it anymore. Go slow the first few times, till you get a feel for what the stopping point is. You will definitely realize the stopping point.

Hi

I got the same watch and I wind mine once a day in the morning and it keeps decent time for a minimum of 24 hours.....
As for number of 'winds' I'd say you need to find that out for yourself as it will differ depending on how long or short your 'twists/ turns' are.

Just go slow and you'll soon find out when its to stop...

jhigh, same deal here but its just a cse of getting to 'know' your watch. Mine died the first few days but now I just wind it morning/night and if i'm bored a few times during the day :D Its no problem to me & it is a beautiful piece.
