Dropped watch Help !!

Can anyone advise,

I dropped my Chopard with A7750 movement on a hard floor no damage to the watch and was still working but after a short while it stopped.
Balance wheel works but only face down and is silent when working no ticking noise and rotor will move slightly but not freely it will not complete a full circle.

I have a watch tool kit but have never used it or worked on a watch before but if something simple I can have a go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Been there. Mine ended up needing a new movement. You can try loosening the movement tabs and see if by chance the seconds hand is touching the crystal (doubtful but possible). Otherwise I think this beyond a DIY project. You are probably looking at a movement service or replacement.

Try holding the watch in one hand and slapping it hard onto the palm of your other hand this sometimes works.

Great thanks, I tried slapping into my palm no joy, but under the loupe I could the rotor wasn't central, it was off the cog or spines ever so slightly, I very gently tilted/shook the watch in the direction it looked like it needed and the rotor repositioned it self, watch is now working great so happy.
One question should the rotor be that loose or easy to reposition or dislodge?

spoke too soon, after gently tapping the watch it has dislodged again so will need to get it fixed somehow, it seems the drop has caused the rotor to detach itself.

Post a pic perhaps? Is the screw still attached and the rotor itself loose? Can you open the back and use the watch by manually winding it?

The rotor is held in place by a screw. It may be that the ‘automatic works’ assembly has become slightly dislodged. Try removing the rotor and then check that the cog underneath the auto winding bridge are running freely

I had this problem and in my case what happened was that the threaded tube which the rotor screwed into on the automatic assembly had become detached. I stuck it back on with a tiny bit of superglue and its been fine ever since. Worth taking a look it could be as simple as that. I take it the screw is still in the rotor yes?

I would take it to a specialist, yesterday there was another guy who tried to fix his watch with no expererience and ended in the dustbin so ...

Yes screw is still in the rotor, but rotor comes off the cog with the screw staying centralised, how do I post photos?

The issue you described about working/not when face up vs face down is likely the shock protection in the balance having done its job. Needs to be repaired. That rotor needs to be re-staked to the bearing. And watchsmith can do both.

Taken rotor bearing off and firmly pressed it into rotor refitted but came straight back off, ok watchmaker it is for new rotor fitted.
