Dropped my v7 and today I noticed that rotor stuck. When I shakes hard it span a few times then stucked again for good. I can manually wind the watch with no problem.
Do you guys know what could be problem?
And any recommended waychsmith in the US?
Does Chris fix APs? I know he's a moder.
Cheers

I assume the watch have an A2824, so I wouldn't force the rotor to spin, because it might damage the reverse gears on the auto module, get it fix mate, it probably have dislocated gears.

Thanks for the advise.
Something similar happened to someone else
on this forum but I can't find that thread.
Should I go to my local watchsmith with Diver v7 or since it's a rep it's better to go with someone from this forum ?

You can ask your local Watchsmith if he/she willing to fix a rep, if doesn't you can always contact RWI Watchsmith, goodluck mate :).

Happened to me after a nice hard drop of my fave watch!
Only it didnt work at all, period! I believe the balance wheel was broken.
Fixed by a modder...
Send it off. Good luck, bud!

Just went to local watchsmith - super nice guy; has great reviews online.
He opened the watch and showed me one of the thinny screw broker and went inside the movement which prevented rotation. He said it went deeper when he opened it. He needs to remove it, take watch apart, replace screw and clean the movement.
$150 + tax = $159

He said that it (v7) almost fooled him.
When I entered his store I told him right way it's a rep AP but He said that someone else brought exactly the same watch for service and didn't tell him it's a rep but eventually he figured it out. he said he's absolutelly impressed with reps these days including the movement of this v7. He asked me how much was it and said that's an excellent price for watch with that movement.

He said he can change crystals in my APs for me if I provide him with 2xAR so I'm off to prof.

Funny thing is I dropped it on a soft carpet under my coffee table - I guess it wasn't soft enough but it tells us how fragile those movements are. I noticed someone scuba diving with their Diver, that's crazy ;)
Btw. Gen APs movements are as fragile as rep if not more.

Great job. One of the best things I did was find a local watchsmith. It brings peace of mind to this hobby knowing you can fix any issues and do light modding locally.

Totally. He's located so close to where I live I can stop by at any time. And yes he can do some mods for me too.
I actually think some other members from this forum are also going to him with their reps as he said lately he got another Diver v7 and a few Rolex watches that were absolutelly scary close to gen. He also did some research on those Rolex movement and he believe same people who make pieces for Rolex movements also made some pieces for rep movements.
I'm not sure if that's the case but I think it's interesting.

The same happened to my diver (V8 with Miyota 9015 and closed Caseback)

My local Watchsmith told me, he couldn't repair it and it is a very bad / cheap movement!

It's the second watch I brought him and he never could do anything for me!
(The other was an AP with 7750 movement)

I think he's not a good watchsmith!

Will send it to some guys from here and see what they can do[emoji1303]

That's sucks.
My watchsmith was actually impressed with movement on my v7. He said its Swiss movement.

miyota 9015 movement is used in many other watches. I don't see why he refused on working on it. Just go to other watchsmith if there is other where you live.

Did you fix your 7750 somewhere else?

So I just picked up my Diver and I'm absolutelly amazed with the job my watchsmith did. I had 2 very small scratches on the bazel that are now gone. I seriously think he slightly te rebrushed the bazel. Dial and DW looks so sharp and clean and watch itself shine like never before. I'm wondering what did he use to clean case like that.
This watch didn't look that good when I recieved it.
And he also fixed the problem and replaced screw that went loose inside the movement preventing rotor spin.
One thing I forgot to ask him to do is water resistantity test.

Who is your watch smith and where is he located? Would he be willing to take in business from other rep owners?

Sure I think he would.
He's located in Florida on east cost.
I asked him today if he would be able to work on Miyota movements thinking about JF 15400, he said yes.
He doesn't work on cheep movements.
What watch would you like to service?
