Does the 210 get no love?

I notice such praise for the 183 rep, but barely see any mention of the 210. Why is this when they are nearly identical save a subdial and some dial text? Am I missing some latent defect with the 210? Thanks.

I have one. I find the base dial a tad easier to "dress up" than the 183, IMO.

Mine will be posted in the For Sale section soon, FYI.

The base model in itself is an acquired taste, I myself love base pams, but I find many are not to found of it when first dipping their toes in the panny pond (they say it's too plain); over time though and talking solely about pams, the beauty of simplicity overwhelms and grows on you (at least it did for me).

I think Radiomirs as a whole don't get as much love as they did a year ago... nor as much love as they should... it's a beautiful case.... and the 210 is either something you get, or don't get....

i love the 210, EXCEPT...

...

i only wish it had gold hands for more of a vintage look...not to mention metallic hands really make the watch face "pop" (the only reason i like a contemporary 104 with silver hands, for example, over my 111 with black hands).

i think a 210 modded with gold hands is a sweet looking watch! the 183 black seal is too busy for me personally, not just because of the seconds dial, but also because of too much writing on the face.

i'd say buy a 210, put on some gold hands, and you'll have a sweet looking watch that could be dressed down with a thick 26mm strap, and also dressed up with a croc strap.

I ownt the 210 and love it

I also own the 47mm Marine Militare and I prefer a bigger watch but I think the 210 is a great classy watch. I have worn it with a suit many times and its one of my favorites.

I feel the same way.

PAM210 gets my vote over 183 BS, anytime!

Understated 'dinner-plate' dial, nice and large numerals and stick bars, no 'pseudo' 9 o'clock marker limited in size due to second hand subdial on 183...no unnecessary extra text like "Black Seal"...etc.

Simple, right to the point and so much reminiscent of those original Radiomir dive watches of 1940s. It bears some sort of a strange simbiosis and appeal to me, on one hand very well designed tool-watch and on another - most likely the only upmarket 'tuxedo/black tie event' kind of Panerai watch in my collection.

...and helluva well done rep as well - definitely one of the best and closest PAM reps today, IMO

regards,
babola

One of my Favorites

I love the 210. As most said, love the simple, understated dial. Not that I have the opportunity to dress up much, depending on the strap, it can be a sporty or dress watch.

IMHO, its also one of the few modern/currently produced Panerais that are true to the original.

Problem is, I need a second hand :( I am currently training to be a physician. Although i can usually get away without a second hand (as patient rooms often have a clock w/second hand) I need it for timing a pulse. It is actually a (school/hospital) requirment to have a watch with a second hand!

I'd love a 210 which uses a modified ETA/Unitas 6497/8 w/central seconds (ala Chronoswiss Timemaster)
