Does anyone know how to get a shiny polish finish on a PVD c

I already talked to Davisen. He has a picture of a Radiomir case that was PVD coated and polished to a bright shine. I love it. However, he says it is not available for sale and he can't? or doesn't want to make another one.

Are there any options for me to polish the case myself? I would be willing to take this on if someone could tell me how. I asked Davidsen for some pointers, but I am waiting to hear back from him...

Are you it was pvd coated? Sometime ago Davidsen came out with a prototype Radiomir in ceramic and that was shiny black. He never did go through with making them. Maybe thats the one you're thinking of.

He posted two pictures in that thread. One was he said NOT ceramic. It was polished PVD and looked a little like ceramic. Then he posted one coated in ceramic.

I would be more interested in the polished PVD personally.

I think you have a couple of options -

1. Buy DSN's PVD version and apply capecod polish. It doesn't become quite "polished", but it does get a little shinier and tones down the color a little (to a more dark greyish color).

2. Buy standard PVD case offered by other dealers. I am not sure it's available for a Radiomir case though. You may want to ask a few dealers, such as Joshua, TWP, Andrew, etc. to see if they have it, or can make one for you. These standard rep PVD cases are literally shiny... and they do not look correct compared to gen, but if that's the look you're going for, this is it (and they're cheaper than DSN).

I personally prefer DSN's PVD case, nice and matte.

This is the polished PVD. Somehow I don't think Cape Cod or other polishing cloth will do this:

I think that's DSN's prototype Ceramic. Capecod will definitely not be able to do that :)

PVD coating will take on the finish of the substrate in MOST cases.

In other words, if the case is polished before coating, then the PVD will appear to be polished.

Easy...buy a cheap one!!...picked up up the 090 in this group from WBK for @ $100.00....
Most folks pay a premium to get the "matte" finish that is closed to the Gen's, but I like this "semi gloss" look too!!

Sure looks like ceramic, possible its some kind of glaze... but it doesn't look like pvd to me.
