While not an original idea, I thought I'd create a fake watch repair invoice for people sending reps to countries with risky customs, or those who just wanna go to the extra effort of ensuring their replicas end up where they want it to end up. Instead of making your own one up, I made one for everyone to use. All you have to do is

1) Download the .docx file: https://mega.co.nz/#!tBIiwaLJ!P0EDgxluF2qJPz_SHCQ_PSEKYlx5Q6AWpAv7-kEovy4
(I can upload it in another format if someone wishes)

2) Change the watch details and date. You can also change the particulars, cost, and even the name of your 'watch repair store' if you want

3) Print it out

4) Place it with the rep you're sending

5) Declare on your customs deceleration form something like 'Repaired timepiece' or something along the lines of that

6) Send it off :)

I welcome any feedback, or if there are any flaws in my idea.

Happy shipping guys

That is great, I generally write watch movement repair on the watches I send out with a brief note in the package stating that I have fixed the watch but it was no where near as good as that one.

would creating a fake paper trail not lead to more issues if caught?

Can't wait to see a member flip a rep with the claim that mods and serviced done and they use a similar invoice :)

Otherwise, good idea.

Several years ago, while living in China, I wanted a particular computer that was quite expensive in China. I sent the money to a family member and had him buy it.

He then opened all of the packaging ran the welcome sequence, to check for DOA, and repackaged it poorly, on purpose.

I then had him include a letter in a place where it would be seen if the package were opened. The letter was on some fake letterhead that basically said “Your computer has been repaired as discussed in our phone conversation and I am now returning it to you.†He also included a fake invoice for services.

He still swears that he included the letter; but, when I got the package it had been opened and resealed by customs and the letter was not in it.

I didn’t have to pay any additional taxes on the computer; so, I suspect the letter worked as intended.

In my country duty must be paid on everything. they dont care about reps. In fact they would like to charge you duty of a gen. Once the customs officer was being a dck and insisting in charging me the duty of a gen yachmaster on my rep, (luxury items and jewelry are 80% duty!!) He knew it was a rep but he was giving me a hard time because wanted me to grease him. So I said he could keep the watch and left. Anyway, they have a log of all the serial numbers of any item you send for repair or service. You must log it before you ship, then when you get it back they will waive the duty if its on the list.

Had a watch blocked at custom for importing taxes and Vat an TD sent me kind of invoice for repair that i provided to cuatoms that then asked to send the proof of payment... The tricky thing is just to send a letter that you can't provide the proof of payment since payment is subject to good reception of the parcel ;-)
Customs then release the parcel you pay VAT +fee (cost me 30€ for 155$ repair invoice) and at least you fot your watch. Customs does not care that it's a fake, they just want to make you pay dor import unless you try to import a full pallet...
