Hi,

I received a PAM375 today from Toro....i was so excited until i turned it over and found a big piece of the movement was dislodged. It doesn't work at all. I have contacted Toro and assume he will resolve but has this happened to anyone before? This is a hand wound movement. Anyway i'm new to all this so wanted to see if anyone had any insights like...."just open the back and snap that piece back into place...."

Thanks,

Neil

take the caseback off and gently fish around for the screws that should be holding that bridge in place, replace them and chances are all will be fine.

Are they even screwed on or like the old DSN plates where they were just glued on? If thats the case its a 5 minute fix.

Some people say a wad a duct tape sticky side out works if your in a pinch. I've used it and it works great imo

Ya its screw on. Basically wad up the duct tape with the sticky side out. Put it in the caseback and the sticky ball "grips" it and then turn.

got the case back off....but it still doesn't work. So i assume that means something else is wrong. I assume it should work without that decorative piece that was glued on not being there.

Correct. How many times have you wound it? When you shake it does it sound like anything is in it?

I wound probably 25 times....not to the end but it is wound.

Nothing is rattling inside. i have compared it to the original QA shot and can't see anything obviously different.

So i guess it is just dead.

If you have a rep-friendly watchsmith close by, you might want to have it checked first before you do the whole return the watch thing.
