Honestly this is one of the most pathetic eBay scam ever !!!
Look at the manuals and the Box, they are not genuine and absolutely crappy quality !
But the Gem is in the Description of the watch itself :

But the Gem is in the Description of the watch itself :
THIS IS A GENUINE SWISS WATCH. Its movement is precise and IS COMPLETELY SILENT. The backstory: Over a year and a half ago at car boot, a young man (looked mid-30's -ish) was tossing what looked to be very lovely items out of the back of a van and on to a table.. flogging it all away for what sounded like peanuts. What caught my attention was a pair of Stacy Adams in superb condition (I wondered if ever worn). Before I could say a word, someone picked them up as the young man shouted "gimme a fiver"- a fiver was paid and off they went. Turns out the guy was seemingly unhappy about being left to deal with his estranged father's belongings. He made it quite clear this was his first stop before going to the tip. Bags and bags of random stuff, much of the same and then comes a shopping bag half full of watches. Some were in boxes and most just chucked in the bag. A quick look and I spotted a couple seikos and Nauticals- grabbed the bag and as I looked up, he shouted out "gimme 20 quid for the whole lot". Well I thought even at a fiver each I would surely get that 20 back so it was an instant no-brainer. Get the bag home and there were more than 20 watches. After the kids and family chose their favorites, the rest ended up here, on ebay (for example: Men's Seiko 5M62-0A10 Pepsi Kinetic Divers Watch - 100m (#144235425945) £95.00, A Wingmaster London, some Fossils that went for over £80 and a Rotary dual face that sold for over £300. ......Now I get to THIS watch. As I begin to research the numbers and markings, I found this: Royal Oak - 77353BC.GG.1263BC.01 - Audemars PiguetThe 18-carat white gold Royal Oak Selfwinding in 34 mm shimmers with Frosted Gold, while the light blue Tapisserie dial offers an interesting play of light.

Seeing the possible value ranging from approx. 40k to 120k gave me incentive to do some footwork. The watch is also missing a screw in the back for some obsure reason, so I was looking to find out its value and what to replace that screw. I started with Local Jewellers like F. Hinds, JK Gems, A&R Jewellers, and every watch specialist in between. I then sat with numerous antique and appraisal experts. All of them inspected the watch, some for many hours after I paid a fee- before arriving at the exact same conclusion. They all concluded that there were none of the telltale signs of replication, but the only possible way to get authenticated IS TO SEND THE WATCH- WITH A CHECK FOR £1500 to A.P. I checked this out, and it is indeed true. A.P doesnt want to know you exist until they see that money. It is a GENUINE SWISS WATCH because It is completely silent, winds itself from natural motion, and you can see some of the gems inside. I am selling it because ...lets be honest.. I am never going to send that check. and when it comes to watches for me...Im more of a Patek Phillipe kind of guy. There are a few signs of wear and some slight scratches. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS. Happy bidding! |
So, educated yourself : if a watch is SILENT (Capital letters !) then it is SWISS MADE. Simple as that ! Reported to eBay, of course. |
