Do you think this a gen watch?

Hi guys. I need your help identifying this watch as gen or rep (if it can be done).

I am trading a gen Rolex for/towards this PAM 113. Now I know the croc strap and buckle are gen so I didn't post the extra pics (he showed me a real receipt for those) but the watch has no boxes or papers...

Will OP only sell accessories to people that prove they have watches?

Regardless, wondering if you can tell from the pics or, if not, maybe I can get some other pics. I doubt he will open the movement (as I am not going to open the case of my Rolex, either).

Thank you all... I love this watch but I don't want to lose like $4,500 over a sloppy deal...

I am a PAM newb, so maybe there are some tells I don't know about that you WIS's can see...

could you call an AD with the serial and authenticate it?

My low price is around $3500 so I would do it. Thanks for the help. Mot sure about serial. If anyone else has ideas, I'd love to know. Thanks.

Edit: I see his watch on TZ and he has a good history...

So I am going to swap my PVD Explorer II...

I am still in the "why does everyone love PAM" club but I've never even SEEN one in person, so I think this is a good way to learn.

Anything else i should know? Is this like an uncool PAM or something? What the hell does PAM even mean? Lol

lol defiantly not uncool. It is however on the smaller side of the panerai model line, 44mm being the most common. For me, the size plays a huge part in why I like them so much. But if 40mm is right around your size then this is perfect!

I would say it is an expensive way to learn  I think i would go to an AD to check them out & try them before buying it.

I´d never in my life go through a deal like this if it´s not made at an AD. -Never.

1) most but not all folks who have gen panerai watches also have the original boxes and papers.....notice i said most which would be a vast majority of gen panerai owners.....no boxes and no papers is a red flag imho.....i have bought 5 preowned gen panerai over the years and every person i bought from whether an individual or a brick and mortar shop made sure i knew the boxes and papers came with the watch AND made an effort to demonstrate all serial numbers matched perfectly...unless there is a fire or some other disaster gen panerai owners tend to keep their boxes including the inner pear wood box, the outer black cardboard/fiberboard box, and the original shipping box which not only has a panerai factory label listing the style and model number but the watch's serial number as well....the papers also have a booklet that has some stickers in it with the watche's serial numbers on them as well which also match the serial number on the warranty card which all should also match the serial number on the watch.....panerai style inner and outer boxes can be nicely repped but i have yet to see the shipping box with the serial numbers repped correctly...

2) you may not like the watch once you get it even if it really is gen and you may want to flip it/sell it for another watch....just .02 worth of unsolicited advice.....40mm panerai models are much harder to resell and white faced watches are also more difficult to resell.....put the two together and you have a small white elephant you will have a hard time reselling.....most pam guys want 44mm and larger watches and most want dial colors other than white.....thats not to say there very well may be some niche buyers who are looking for a white dialed 40mm pamerai BUT they will be far out numbered by folks who are looking for 44mm pieces with dial colors other than white.....this is what i have observed not only locally but also on numerous watch boards....

personally i would sell the rolex you are looking to get rid of and then buy the piece you want or see if a dealer will take the rolex in trade on a panerai but i wouldn't trade the gen rolex you have for the watch in question.....you may end up spending a bit more $ this way but you will not be stuck with a watch that will be more difficult to flip or worse stuck with a rep traded for a gen rolex.....i think it would be a very expensive way to get introduced to panerai watches in the long run if you did this deal

that's just my opinion and your mileage may vary
