Do you keep your (Daytona) Chrono Hand reset at 12?

Or do you prefer it be somewhere else (at 3, 6, 9 or..) so that the beauty of the brand and 5 lines of text are clearly visible?

I for one prefer the latter and park the chrono hand to a dead zone that doesn't hide anything.

Interesting thought - which never occurred to me... It would somehow resemble leaving open the buttons on a bespoke blazer - just because you can. What I mean is: showcase that it is not a fake Daytona with a faux chronograph. But after all: I like it best, when it is up right ;)

Or better yet buttoning up all buttons instead of just the top lol

Recalling the great Top Gear presenter, James May, and his colleague Jeremy Clarkson's great ability to annoy him by just wearing his Omega Planet Ocean with its diving bezel timing nothing (so, off-center or off-12 o' clock), and their other colleague Hammond stating it is May's "kryptonite".... May becomes quite physically irate... well warranted too...

I couldn't. I dislike those who are timing nothing and specially on a chronograph. I have never used the chrono and when I do, it's reset immediately after done.

Except that the ARF Daytona with modded 7750 has a functional seconds hand, it's just the subdials that don't work.

Aaaaaanyway, messing about with the chrono no matter how gen-like always ends in tears eventually. So I never use mine.

Is it given that the rep mov't chronos will break over time? I love fiddling with mine! Umm my chronos of course.

It isn't a given, but chronos are notoriously delicate complications, and you're playing around with a rep version.

I just prefer not to court disaster, and err on the side of caution. I don't need to use the chrono, so I don't. Plus I have (and have had) a number of chronos, both gen and rep, that have been used, and which now refuse to reset accurately to their reset positions. And if there's one thing I hate (to go back to the OP's question) it's a big seconds hand that's not pointed perfectly at 12.

True - but the JF A23 version doesn’t have any chrono functionality at all…

My 4130 chrono function hasn't failed, but it does often get stuck and needs another set of button presses to get it back on track.

People wearing gen Daytona's don't even think that they have to demonstrate that their watch is not a fake ;)

Well, in that regard I don’t distinguish between my gens and reps. For me it is more about symmetry…
