Guess it depends on the issue...the general advice is not to engage if they send you a seizure notice though

If you're looking for advice to skirt customs then the thing about public forums is that anyone can browse, including curious customs agents.

I am looking for guidelines on the best ways to handle USA customs issues. I'm not saying that I have those.... just looking for education. :)
Hi buddy

If you do get a customs seizure letter, do not proceed any more with the package at all.

Customs will ask you to contact them but its best to lapse the thing and let it go.

Ask your TD to re-send a new package to you but please use a fresh new address.

Cheers.

USPS > Fedex/DHL/UPS in terms of pure safety.

Although you might have members SWEAR by Fedex and others, in my personal opinion, national USPS mail is the safest route. It's not fast but I've never had an item seized through this pathway. Generally because Fedex/UPS/DHL is responsible for collecting import tax and fees, so they will open any package that even looks expensive, i.e a watch.

Meanwhile USPS/US customs is flooded with mail and too many packages for them to check, they're not gonna bother with a small package with 1 watch, you may get unlucky, always a game of chance, but it's much lower than Fedex.
