DNS & Sead PAM111

Ok so i'm pretty much at the crossroad point where i must choose DNS or Sead for my PAM111...

And i can't make up my mind...

So why go DSN? Or why go Sead for a PAM111???

Personally they both look fine to me but i need some expert guidance.

My goals:
Around $400.
Most realistic to gen for that price.
Fit Panerai SS bracelet.

If you are in the conus people prefer SEAD because there is no customs risk.
SEAD uses the same dial as DSN
SEAD uses T48 which is better than DSNs crown
If SEAD still is using the nembo cg's its better than the DSN crown as well
SEAD uses C3 lume. Its brighter than DSN (owned both)
DSN can have swiss movement and asian, SEAD just uses Asian
Both have good AR

However, the bracelet is a toss up. Some bracelets fit the case, some dont as well. Its a toss up really.

And for the movement since we can 'see' it, which one looks more gen-like? Or both are about the same?

Both of them use engraved plates. Its just a preference if you want Swiss or Asian. Biggest tell will be the balance wheel, but if its moving you wont be able to tell as easy

The reason you see so many DSN 111's is because DSN has been in the game of making them for a lot longer. And SEAD's current turn around time is 4+ weeks where it takes DSN about 10 days to get to the USA on average.

Sead has a new single sided AR which is awesome. If in the US Sead is my choice.

I think you "see" more DSN PAMs because he builds and ships much quicker than SEAD. Many folks don't like to wait. Also, unless you really know what you are looking for, they are both pretty good for the money. If you want a pretty darn good rep... for a decent price... delivered pretty quickly, I would go with DSN.

As the others have said. It's like anything else. Each has flaws and stregnths. Just different ones.

DSN's is a 1:1, while SEAD's is a Grade AAAA+. So it's really just a matter of personal preference.

Sure does. If you look at it current production he is using the same flawed DSN dial with the bad hook on the 3

Interesting, I haven't really investigated SEAD's offerings beyond he Nembo CG.

@Fakes - I believe that's what Shadow is trying to suss out - which has fewer flaws or which has flaws he can more easily live with.

Well one of the biggest tales is the 111 they are both using look like crap IMO. You could have great lume, case, cg, crown ect ect but the dial with the horrible hook is a DEAD give away. I would hold off personally until dsn comes out with better dials.

Exactly the advice I always give. Decide which flaws you can personally live with.

He does not really have a presence here at RWI. He is primarily over at RepGeek. I think he has a section in the vendors' area over there under Super Mirrors.

Yes its killing me, but not sure what other options i have for a 44mm Pam that will take the ss bracelet i have waiting for it hehe.

Any comments on DSN 112h?

Havent seen the new dsn 112 dials. Are you looking just at manual wind pams?
