Im thinking of getting one, just wanted to get feedback on durability of coating from those who have owned.

Durability is good unless you wear it as a daily for years. Even the gen will wear in that case, especially on the crown guard with a manual wind. If it's in a rotation and you're careful with your watch, you're good.

Good DLCs on reps are almost the same as gen
But being reps you can be unlucky some times

And even after "years" use, there is a nice "worn" look like an old pair of jeans. Very nice.

Wears well and no discernible difference from gen over time -- worth the buy if you like the look. If you're worried about dings or fading, get a ceramic model -- 292, 431, or 438 -- can't go wrong.
