Differences in comfort between various buckles

I'm about to order a custom strap and they offer different buckles. My two choices are the flat old school sewn-in GPF and a screw-in Pre-V. I only have experience with OEM buckles and they look good and are very comfortable. I like the looks of the flat GPF buckle better than the Pre-V, but I'm concerned that it won't be as comfortable as the curved Pre-V. And it's stuck in the strap and can't be taken out.
I'd like some feedback from experienced owners on which one they prefer and why. Does the GPF get stuck under jacket sleeves? Does it cause pressure on the bottom of the wrist? Or is it as comfortable as the Pre-V? Do you care about the GPF Mod-dep engraving at the bottom of the buckle?
The strap is a vintage, raw edged, thick type, for my Noob 372 :)

Gpf buckle is not as comfortable. You need to Make sure the buckle side is long enough so that the gpf sits on the outside of the wrist and not in the center like you would have on the OEM curved buckle.

Gpf is all about vintage look with a thick leather strap. I have a gunny 74 with gpf on my gen 422. So that is my experience.

Now that is what I call a useful reply. :) Thanks bro!
So if I want to complicate my life, I go for the GPF, right? ;) These were exactly my concerns. I think it's better to have a buckle that goes with the flow instead of sticking away from the strap..It also tends to get stuck in tight sleeves, huh? And I have finaly found the perfect size for my wrist ( 130/80 ) and I have no idea what size to go for with the GPF buckle. It does look cool, but I'll enjoy its coolness in the pics, like I use too anyway.
Thanks again, rep points are on the way! :)

Hah yeah with gpf and thick vintage strap it's all about short sleeve or no sleeves!

Go for gpf with vintage strap on 372. My wrist is 7" and my strap is 130-80 too. If I could change it I'd do 140-85. Vintage strap is all about long tail too! One other concern is that the straight tang on gpf buckle wears out the strap hole faster too

We're about the same size. I just contacted the strap maker for suggestions on sizing, but I'm leaning more towards the Pre-V. I rarely wear my leather strap watches when it's warm, because I sweat like a pig and I don't want to ruin the straps, so the buckles need to be sleeve-friendly :) I hate it when I can't get my hand through the damn thing and put on my watch after I'm fully dressed :) I know the GPF is more stylish and true to vintage style and I like it a lot, but I know my temper when little things that bug me on a daily basis start to annoy me...so I better go for the Pre-V..before my strap AND my 372 end up on the other side of the hammer :)

Mine is the Noob version, looks the most gen-like of all reps on the front end. Not so much on the back, but I don't care,I don't wear my watch upside down :) My first 372 was KW and it was really crappy compared to this one,it had yellow inscriptions and blue screws,bah..
Thanks for the additional pics, this doesn't look bad at all,I thought it would stick out much more. And the watch is awesome, damn! :)
