Hi I'm new to the Panerai market.
I was wondering what is the difference between the 2 makers, Noob and HMaker.
And whats the difference between the N/M for the 111.

Thank you.

This is the thread you want to read:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/ultimate-pam111m-teardown-86121?t=86121

Basically, Noob is almost 1:1 entirely, H factory isn't. New 'N' Version has single sided AR and upgrades to the CG.

Thank you, that was very informative.
So I glanced through the post, and it seems that the major difference is the movement, 21600 vs 18800 bps. Aside from that it is just minor cosmetic differences. Is that correct?
the 111M Hmaker sells for 178 on MR and the 111N noob goes for like 250. That is a pretty big difference for such small cosmetic differences. Is the second hand movement that noticeable between 21600 and 18800?

Yes it is noticable. However the low beat movement is renowned for being unreliable as well. It's not just a beat rate issue. Don't forget that the 111M is not only an older, cheaper version of the 111m noob, but that the new 111N has the AR and CG upgrades. I have a 111M version and it really is worth every penny. If you don't have a Pam from N factory you will be stunned at the quality. Honestly.

Thanks for the info.
I wish I found this forum before I bought my milgauss from another website. I paid 175 after shipping and it was the 21j movement with the stutter between 12 and 6 position. The illumination also doesn't work. I have to put it under a lamp for a minute and then it fades within 2 hours.
I msged trevor and he is sold out of the N noob right now, maybe I'll wait for it to come back into stock.

I think Sead (Supermirrors) just posted that he has a few for sale.

Yeah, the 21j Milgauss is one to avoid unfortunately. And don't worry, my one with clone movement had crap lume as well. You'll be shocked at how nuclear the superlume on the PAMs is.

One thing about the PAM that bothers me is the length of the strap.
Im very skinny and have small wrist, about 6" so I'm worried that the strap will not fit. For my milgauss I basically had to remove all the removable links to make it fit.
Also, some say that the rubber strap is very stiff and not good. Is the rubber better?

I've not had a rep rubber strap that wasn't super soft. The new ones really are very good.

Re; straps. I have a 7" wrist and struggle to get most of the rep straps to fit nicely so 6" wrist with the standard size should be fine. But the rep straps are (mostly) pretty crap leather. So better choosing the rubber option and then buying a decent strap from one of our strap makers or one of the million different strap makers that do PAM straps with nice leather.

Sharper inner arches and flush lever pin. Also has single side AR and nicely matched lume on hands and dial.

These are just minor upgrades but every little step is a little step closer to gen ;)

I think H factory has a better cannon pinion though. The three watches I have from H factory don't have the point in the center of the pinion as they seem to be flatter and polished.

The noob has better casing, but in some angles you can see the needle point on the cannon pinion. This is not the 111m though so I'm wondering if they fixed that.

No, that's an M version. That thread was posted like 8 months ago man.

You can clearly see the recessed cannon pin and also smooth inner arches of the crownguard. It's definitely not an N even without seeing the caseback.

:picard:

If you ask him to sell you an N version then I'm sure he will get you an N version. If you ask for an M version then I'm sure you will get an M version. Dealers do not put up a thread for every single watch that they can get. They'd never have the time to sell anything if they did that.
