Just wondering what the main difference's between a gen 6.75 and one of the new'er reps are. I know that the AR is the biggest tale-tell (?) but besides that, what's different? Thanks!

Rehault/inner bezel is deeper on rep than gen
Lack of true double AR
Date font color, even the new darker red is still not as dark as gen
Date window sunken compare to gen

I am sure there are others, and small tells like screw ends in bracelet.

Cheers,
M

double AR is the biggest issue. datefont color changes even on the gen. Ive seen 6.75's with dark red and some with black fonts. Some of the older ones are brighter red so i dont think its that big of a deal. The rehaut is different but the lack of double AR is the major flaw.

Depends on which model.

Actually the older version 6.75 with the date at 4:30 has more obvious flaws than the AR coating. The running seconds should be at the 3:00 subdial and not at the 9:00 position. Thus the subdial markings are reversed. Also, the chrono hand on the 6.75 circles the dial in 30 seconds, twice as fast as the 60 second rep and the datewheel is recessed. A better option is the big date (new) version that has proper subdial positioning, no recessed date, but still lacks the 30 second chrono.

I think in this case we are just talking about the current versions. The Chrono Motors T has the sec@9 instead of the correct sec@3, and the recessed datewheel at 4pm on the dial... the Bentley 6.75 with big date is more accurate i agree with andreww. When comparing side by side the rehaut is a big difference between the rep and gen. The rep looks twice as deep.

One other difference is that unlike Navitimers, the crystal is NOT attached to the outer bezel nor is the inner bezel attached to it as well. The gen uses a type of "moving" pinion system where rotation of the bezel causes the inner bezel to rotate in the opposite direction.

Lastly, the crystal on the gen is mounted to the case.

Gotcha,
I just got a new 6.75 big date with the espresso face. I used to have the one with the running seconds at 9, and while it was good, it was pretty far off. Anyways, the new one is absolutely beautiful, but only worked for about 6 hours. Now it's on it's way back to China Land to be replaced. Another F******* 3 weeks.
