Did blackbay lose value quickly when it got released?

Just wondering what the response was when the blackbay got released. Was there a lot of catch and release? Granted, I don't think there were two factories competing over the release like the Pelagos. It just makes me feel suspicious seeing all the watches being sold as new and it becoming $100 cheaper on intime. Am I looking too far into it?

I think you're looking too far into it. I have no idea if there were a lot of C/R here, since the BB has never got too much of my attention. As far as I've seen here, Repgeek and RWG, the BB was very welcomed into the rep world. What does it matter if it had a good response, or was there many C/R, why feel suspicious? Not everyone is 24/7 on all the dealers sites, checking what's the current price on each watch. Mind you, there have been many members who have sent theirs to get Relumed, since sometimes the rep lume sucks, and they have the right to add that to the price.

What matters is, if you want it and like it, get it, and forget the rest.

You are absolutely correct. I have never seen high quality reps being sold anywhere on streets. I have tried this on three different continents and several countries. So much for forums being only 10% market of high end rep market.

to answer the question the BB did not Catch & Release nearly as fast or in such quantities of the pelagos has. I've seen so many pelagos come up for sale as soon as they are received.

the five fathoms hardly comes up even now and it has been out a while and black bays took about a month before they started cycling into M2M other than a few. between here and across the street I bet there have been 10 or more pelagos go up for sale.

it concerns me as I like it and wouldn't mind one but strange to me at least

They are not going down on price because of people are willing to pay it. Simple economics. Supply and demand.
