I'm looking into printing my own vintage explorer dial. Finding
suitable images to print though, is not easy. There are few good high
res shots of the dials available on google, and also in these forums I
can find only relatively low res images ready to print. (I tried searching
the forums for images via google, using "site:forum.replica-watch.info"
in the address bar of my browser, but google doesn't seem to index all
images.)
A worker at a print shop told me that using an svg to print from, achieves
the best results. So currently I'm having a go at tracing a 1016 dial image
from the web, to make an svg file. But it is a bit challenging, as the jpegs
are a bit fuzzy. So where to put the actual paths...
So I thought it would maybe be a nice idea to start a thread where users
can post their images of dials (ready to print, or very high res snap shots),
as a kind of repository for these files. Not sure if the forum can host any
type of file though? Ideas?
And a good ready to print file for a 1016 or pre explorer dial will also be
appreciated
