TL;DR: 9.3 Rating. Amazing watch at a great value. Might buy an additional color as I like the black version so much.

Price: $67.07 (currently sold out)
Delivery Time: 18 days

Ok, the watch design makes this amazing regardless of how you may source this. This watch has the perfect weight with a silky feeling rubber strap. This is a design that literally perfects the casual sports watch and makes others in its class irrelevant. If I had to own one single Rep, it would be this watch. I am very glad I started with this watch on DHGate as it didn’t discourage me from trying more (is that a good thing?).

The watch itself feels and handles as if it was a higher priced watch, despite a couple small dial issue: date font is a little weak and the length of the 14/16 minute markers clearly point out that they are executed poorly. But that is well outside of arm’s length viewing. As for the case, it is a bit thicker than than other Reps and certainly the Gen, but it adds to the feel that it is substantial and I don’t dislike it, TBH. The brushed treatment of the case is perfect and so is the crystal which is mounted very flush with the case.

The dial is, for sure, a tell on this Rep. Experts will probably have several issue with it, but for myself, I am super impressed. It is clean, well aligned, and nicely colored. The lume is outstanding and it has a bold glow in the dark that makes it the easiest of all my watches to see in the low light.

The strap is my favorite component of this watch…it is fantastic. It is smooth and firm at the same time, with just enough suppleness to fit the wrist and wear comfortably. I don’t know what the Gen feels like, but I could easily be fooled that this was close. In fact I even felt guilty trimming it. The clasp is perfectly aligned and has a nice solid “click” to it, but the engraving of the PP logo is pretty shallow and would not convince anyone of its authenticity. That said, the execution of the clasp is very good and is one of those issues where a low quality Rep would frustrate and discourage a buyer.

On the wrist, it is exactly as advertised. The weight is very nice for this watch 99 grams, noticeably lighter than my Air-King (138 g) and much lighter than my AP RO (170g). It’s comfortable and both wearable and legible.

It seems to be keeping great time and I’m getting about 48 hours out of a good winding.

On to the ratings:

Fit and Finish: 9.5, I can’t see anything that I’d wish were different. Logo is great, dial nice and clean and well aligned.

Legibility: 9, An impressive and iconic dial; this Rep may have issues, but certainly not at the distances it is worn and observed.

Comfort: 9, A great clasp, silky smooth strap, and nice weight to the case.

Wearability: 9, A great, great design that refuses to look dated. Easy to wear, straightforward to read in all light conditions.

Value: 10, Absolutely worth the price, if even for a daily beater (amazing to even write that). Will buy again in blue, when available.

Overall: 9.3

Thanks for this review. I am looking for a beater to fish in and this one is the top contender atm.

Yeah hope so to. Is it sold out? It says its $10 for one but that does not seem right.

I think that is the selection for extra “waterproofing”...who knows what that really means. Work through the options marked “colors” and/or “More” and you’ll see both the picture and pricing change accordingly. Then add to cart. A bit confusing but it’s just the way the site works.

Definitely not a “thin” version. Feels substantial on and doesn’t wear thick, like some of my other watches.
