Deploy vs Tang buckle

I have noticed that most of the Pam watches have a tang buckle on them vs a deploy buckle. Is there a reason for this ? Is the deploy buckle problematic or unreliable ?

any insight would be appreciated.

For me, the deployment is uncomfortable pretty much.... Tang all the way

With the thick straps that many Panerai watch owners seem to prefer, deployants would not be comfortable. On rubber or croc, they are fine for me.

They actually look best on a dress watch, IMO, a category of which Panerai is not a part.
