For years everyone has claimed that the 029 GMT is inaccurate as there was never an L Swiss L dial. Here is a listing of the first one ever offered for sale. And it is a B series - :D

I have put the pics below and could not resist adding my own which has been almost two years in the making. Mods include relume, Watchmaster cyclops, Lello Date wheel, Jimmy CG and Genuine Crown. Thanks tp Tutima who's Le Spezia looks fabulous on it.

Nice work on the 029. I had mine relumed and am awaiting a new crown from Vaccuum. It looks like your Jimmy crown guard has the same problem mine had. The pin head is slightly tilted so that it isn't parallel to the crown guard face. It bothered me enough I sent it back despite the nice smooth opening latch. He sent me a replacement which was the same.

If you are referring to the pin holding the crown guard you are absolutely correct. But look at the gen up above. The pin is neither flat nor parallel. Most A's and B's have been serviced at least once and invariably the pin is not placed perfectly back. Also there work was not nearly as standardized as Vendome hadn't rationalized the suppliers yet. I do see your point though. Here is another gen L Swiss L with a more flush pin:

Today the pins and sleeves on the gens are not only parallel but beautifully beveled. It is too bad you no longer have the Jimmy. They now sell for in excess of $200. When Jimmy declared he was no longer making them I bought out his inventory (even the last rubber sleeves only). On one partial CG I bought from him I just swapped out the rubber sleeve onto a standard rep pin and swapped that pin in. And no PM's mine are long gone either to friends or on watches. :D
