I am just beginning this path...and am considering the various options for my first rep buy. Of those in your stable, do you have a favorite?

I've had two of them plus the 270 over the years and it is a great watch. One of my favorites because of it's wrist presence and it's looks. I never had any issues with the movement. I'd recommend it if you have the chance.

if you need gmt and PR on the dial go for it, otherwise a 510? cleaner and cheaper, but it's kinda like a 111 :)

have the dot dial for several years. pick up one pre owned for a great price. Not the panerai for pure panerai enthusiasts, but awesome panerai if you like other brands and don't mind more complication than a base :). one of the very few 44mm with dome sapphire and you can hide GMT hand when not in use, but get changing day/night with dot. One of the best modern panerai. its the only gen panerai with crown guard i own. Oh and open case back to keep super reps from ever being created.

Yes I bought a Gen 111 and after discovering how good Panerais are I am kicking myself. Go with something more complicated like the 233!!

I have the same dilemma my self..
I found a mint 233 (purchased Jan 2014) for a great price, 6600 euros...

I'll have to sell many of my reps in order to afford it but I think it's worth it

233 is a beauty. Have you considered 47mm Pam's?

i have 2 reps of them.. A fiddy and a 364 (currently up in M2M sales) that I LOVE... Only issue is the inability to wear under a dress shirt cuff... A 44mm PAM with a 1950 case and domed crystal that the 233 has, seems to be as "present" as a 44 can be, without the bulk of a 47mm case. I want this to be my go - to piece, so versatility is key.
