I ordered an Omega UPO from D4Me. The watch arrived but was running intermittently. Rather than sending it back to China, I took it to a rep friendly watchmaker who found the gear housing the main spring missing some teeth.

I wrote Greg to tell him about the problem and he settled with me very fairly for the replacement part and the cost to repair.

BTW, the watchmaker told me that the ETA “clone†is a mixture of new and old, Chinese and Swiss made parts. Overall, he thinks that it is a very dependable mechanism.

The watch is running well, looking good and is keeping accurate time and I am quite happy.

Thanks Gerg, you are a gentleman.

Nothing more and certainly nothing less than I would expect from "Da Man".
Interesting comment on the clone. Gen ETA parts 'ey? Well I'll be.

According to the watchsmith, it seems that the manufacturer of the ETA clone has been buying parts from different sources and assemble them. The part he replaced for me is genuine and fit right in.

So I gather that the manufacturer of the movement buys what is available in the market assemble them. This is just my conjecture.

Again, always pick your dealer before you pick your watch. With great watches, comes great service and vise-versa. D4m is a true gentleman.

I couldn't agree more; D4M helped me with a DOA and I am very grateful. G deserves all these good things that are being said about him and as I write this post he is hosting a raffle for all RWI members too!

@ D4M, THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH AN AMAZING CONTRIBUTION TO OUR FORUM, OUR HOBBY AND AN UPSTANDING FELLOW ENTHUSIAST! [smilie=icon_salut.gif] For those about to watch, we salute you!

Nope,, you are getting these errors because I have received 70 pm's in the last 1.5 days and I cant keep up... I have 2000 pm's in my in box and it gives that error when it is maxed out. This week has been extremely busy for me (this last 1/2 year has been that way).. this weekend wont provide me any relief either.. I have replied to your pm just a moment ago.. ;)
