Daytona sec @6 power reserve issue?

I just recived two Rolex replicas today, one for me and one for my father. I went with the JF Explorer I and he got the JF Daytona sec @6 with the 7750 movement.

The explorer was running when I picked it up, and have been running flawlessly since I put it on my wrist. Absolutely no issues at all.

The Daytona died after an hour on the wrist. After a couple of turns on the winder it started again, and have been running for about 4 hours. My father is older and do not move around so much, but he have a couple of authentic Rolex and have never had any similar problems before.

So the question. Is this a known issue? Do you have to wind it for a couple of minutes every day, in order to have a reliable watch? Is it simply a matter of gaining a big enough power reserve? Or, is there something wrong with the movement?

In general I am very happy with the look and feel of the watches. I am used to authentic watches and the build quality and experience of these watches is 1:1 IMHO.

I suggest you wind it up at least 40 to 60 turns of the crown from completely dead. It should have a power reserve of at least mid 30+ hours. Understanding that your father does not move much, it should still stay running all day from fully wound. This being said, the 7750 seconds at 6 has a spotty reliability history although it has improved from a few years ago. I had mine serviced and it runs flawlessly.

Lol, i would give my dad the 23J instead of the a7750 version so i would be sure he cant fuck up the watch :p. Aside from that, indeed try winding like teddy says.

Bummer, it have died 2-3 times today.

I did the winding as sugested but after 2-4 hours it dies. I have contacted the TD, they have 1 year of warranty after all. It looks like I have to send it back again.

Anyone got any suggestions before I send it back? It seems that the only power the watch gets is from the winding. Could something have come loose?

Service will run about$250. Does it start to run when hand wound? Sometimes my 7750s need a good 10-20 winds to start the seconds hand moving.

Yes it starts as soon as I start winding. But if i need to do it 3-4 times a day it is not worth much.

I will try to find someone who can fix it localy. However, all the repair shops in my town writes on their website that replicas is unwelcome.

Is there anyone on the forum who can service it? I live in Scandinavia so EU is perferable.

Just an update. Now the daytona is completely dead, and I can not get it working again. The explorer have started dying from time to time, so I guess I am very unfortunate.

I have corresponded with the TD and he suggested that I return the watches for them to look at. Of course I have to pay the return cost. What can I expect. Will they perform a full service on the watch, or just replace it, or what? Would I be better of spending my money on a more expensive service. This will be doubling the cost of the watch, according to local service prices. That is if I can find a local watch smith who will perform the service.

I am a bit thorn. If this is the kind of reliability that I can expect from the watches, I am leaning towards just to put them away and forget all about them. After all I have only had them for 4 days, and the performance have been very disappointing.

What would you suggest?

@dmuit and @zocker4711 are in Germany. Perhaps send it to one of them for a full service? Expect it to cost around $250 USD, but worth it in the long run. What's wrong with the explorer?

The Explorer just stops once or twice a day. If i move the hands or wind it, nothing happens. But a light tab on the back does the trick.

It seems to me most of the reviews on this forum focuses on the look and how it match the gen. But I do not see much review of the movement, accuracy, and power reserve, which in my opinion is the most important part.

I just thought that I would give you guys an update. I ended up sending it back to the TD, as part of the 1year movement guarantee. It ended up costing me about around 50$ in postal fees. The watch arrived at the TD shortly after, but something went wrong in the communication. Long story short, I got the watches a back after about 3 months. The watches is in working condition, and I believe that they have had some sort of repair or service.

However, I have forbidden my dad to use the extra functionalities of the Daytona :)

My problem is still that I cannot find any local repair shops who will service the watches in the future. I am thinking about buying another watch. That makes me wonder if any of the TD’s offer a full watch service for an extra fee, when you are buying a new watch. That would help me out a lot, and spare me the experience of sending the watch back within weeks of receiving it.
