Davidsen's 176, I noticed something strange

I was looking at Davidsen's new 176 and saw something odd on the back. On the outside of the case by the lugs there are three sets of numbers. Is the the way the new gen Panerai's are being made? is it correct?

Also, I'd like to know what the experts think about this dial? I know there has been a lot of discussion about the accuracy of his dials lately and I wonder how this one rates.

These numbers are accurate for these watches. Look for some gen photos and you will see them too.

You know- I don't care for all the Davidsen nit picking-

But they are corect- The 176 that I have seen have all marking on the caseback-

Let me clarify. I'm not nitpicking. Nitpicking would be " isn't the Luminor font 1.8734432 mm too far to the left". I saw it and was curious. Was is something new? I've read a ton of positive and negative things about Davidsen. I'm just trying to figure out if his watch is correct compared to the gen. Plus, I've never seen the markings on any newer PAMs.

No don't get me wrong- It's valid criticism- Wouldn't be a rep if it didn't replicate something in the first place-

I just hate when Davidsen posts a new model and a dozen experts crap the thread with nit picky stuff based on lousy internet photos.

And even with the wrong case who cares- and who knows??

Unless you're in the habit of taking your watch off and handing it to a Paneristi who is holding a portfolio of Panerai photos- I think these pass pretty well.

And as with everything- the watches he reps that don't get close enough sell very poorly- We're the marketplace so if we don't buy- they get the message.

I agree. I have a guy in another office and he's got a Pam111g. We compared watches and I couldn't tell if his was a gen or not. He told me he was a watch guy and I told him after he looked at it for a couple minutes that it was a rep. Even after looking for all the signs it's virtually impossible to know thru the course of a normal conversation. I think it's amazing how close to the gen all these watches are.

That's exactly right!

BTW some *dumb* people resort to inspecting the person's clothing to determine this.... LOL!

The back says H0132/1000.

They only make 400 copies.

Model Pricing Production Run
PAM 114 $3,450 400
PAM 112 $3,450 1200
PAM 176 $3,750 400

I believe the 400 units for 176 is for the the G-Series. I think more units were made for H. Not 100% sure though.

@Blink -- are you talking about the numbers on the back of the Davidsen case, or the pics that Aquaracer posted?

@Peepshow,

I'm talking about the numbers Davidsen put on the back, it looks like a stupid mistake.

Nope, not a stupid mistake. He's using the case he had designed for his 036, hence the engravings (which are more accurate than any other 036 available). It's wrong for this watch, there is no arguing that.

There are other flaws that show this is a rep before anyone would notice the engravings near the lugs, though.
