Are all of Davidsen's dials sandwich? I hear an 005 is in the works and wondered if it would have a printed dial or if he only makes sandwiches?

davidsen offers both type of dials (sandwich and sausage). Take note that it won't fit all Panerai case (i.e: 44mm PAM). It's best that you have a dremel tool in case the dial doesn't fit.

It's true. You can't make smaller dial larger. It's better to leave it large and you can custom downsize it.

I concurr with Enzo - the dial looks more like the original routed dials than the latest true sandwich dials

Out of intrest I test fitted one of the smaller dials I had removed into a case made for the larger and it doesn't work so making them in the larger size is the best for everyone. Until the movement is removed it is not always easy to identify which of the many cases you have. With care it is not too difficult to take 1/2mm off the edge

Just compared my home built logo with my fiddy and once the logo dial is fitted in the watch it definately doesn't look like a sandwich dial. Lets face it guys its as near to a logo dial that is currently or likely to be available. As well as that it looks great

Here is a picture I just took - first one where I have managed to capture the non-matching dial and hands

Nice! Thanks for the input guys. Glad to hear we have a true craftsman on our hands. I can't wait to see what he will have for us next!

I think I prefer that they are slightly larger [it's about .5mm] The fact is you can take them down to a precise fit, better than any OEM dial that slops around generally. You can't make a smaller dial larger, just have to hope it stays put ...

his Pre-V/A sandwiches aren't conventional [modern] sandwiches either. Much thinner, they don't look like modern, high walled sandwiches. What they aproximate is the Pre-V/A dials that were routed and so had recessed, in-filled lume characteristics.

enzo, if I do want to make it to have a recessed in-filled look, how can I do that? What could be added?
