Hey Sean, Thanks for the pix. I was just wondering if you chose that location for the lighting or..... just a little peace and quiet :) :) :)

How bout this. It wasn't for the lighting. Thanks for the reply ljay. I'm trying with these pictures. I still don't know how people take such clear pix.

It's not as hard as it seems. Keep at it and learn to feel how your camera works. Any troubles and I'm just a PM away.

find the flower button on your camera it is your friend!
don't hold the camera when you take the picture.(I have a comicly small tripod I use for macro stuff) Take the picture on delay. (The icon with the broken circle with the dot at 12 o-clock and a minute hand at 10 o-clock.)

In macro mode just pushing the button will cause enough motion to blur the image! :)

even in macro mode you need to have the object at least 3 inches away from the lens.

once you can take a picture on delay in macro mode you will get nice crisp pictures!

and don't be afraid to take Pug up on his offer! He takes better pictures on accident than I take on purpose!

and since your wondering, It was just a lucky guess :D

Its the strap that Davidsen sends with the watch. I know, its a pretty nice stock strap. I did however buy the famed Metta Cathrina from Eddy. Will post pix when I receive. Thanks Pug and OldeCrow for your advise. Here is another pix taking in some of your suggestions.

If you have a point and shoot with a zoom feature you can try this. Focus in on the entire watch by depressing the shutter release button half-way down. Then rezoom slower, after subject is in focus. Keep depressing shutter button peroidically, until you have achieved what it is you desire. Also, people tend to get their camera to close to the subject, because in the back of their minds they are thinking 'closeup', most lenses (even macro) require a certain distance before a subject will get into focus. If you have a guide it should tell you the specs on the lens.

Good advice.

My camera has no Macro feature (no, really - it focuses cleanly from fairly close to 400mm equiv.) so I tend to shoot as close as comfortable and crop down. The extreme closeups I've done are actually crops and not close-ups. I need to use Noise Ninja in Photoshop as the Lumix DMC-FZ20 has a noisy CCD. Oh, and if you're wanting high-detail, use the lowest ISO/ASA setting you have, which in my case is 80.
