i've seen the cyclops repair/removal thread and was hoping i could fix this without removing the glass.

anyone ever have this issue or think i can fix it myself? it appears air is developing or is trapped underneath the cyclops on the bottom left corner of the glass.

i can send it back and have it fixed, but wanted to know if anyone thinks i have a chance to repair this myself and has experience with this repair.

thank you!

I wonder whether superglue (the really thin stuff) would suck into the void through capillary action.

Thats interesting. Maybe worth a try.

You could always just remove the cyclops and replace it. You can take a chisel to the corner and pop it off, or if it is stubborn heat it up with a soldering iron or something, then repeat the first step.

Clean up the clue with some specialized product or acetone, and replace.

thanks for the suggestions.

how about just heating it with a hair dryer or heat gun? perhaps this would redistribute the glue and get rid of the air?

i didn't want to figure out how to open this puppy and risk breaking the glass and or cyclops considering i just received it!

bad news on this.

my watch guy tells me it may have been caused by the resin not curing properly and was affected when i wore it in the sun. he tried to remove the cyclops, but could not get it to come out of the circular pot that it sits in. the cyclops is embedded in the crystal. the crystal has a "hole" where the cyclops resides and the darn thing would not come out of it.

so now i need a new crystal with cyclops. apparently, i also need a new gasket for the crystal. in the process of the crystal removal, the bezel had to come off and that gasket (the plastic one that regulated the "clicks") was also destroyed.

anyone know where is can get a crystal with date cyclops plus the gaskets? mineral or sapphire?

Buy a one piece crystal from DSN? He has crystals for his PAM Subs that should fit, if your watch is A7750 based too ;)

does the crystal have to be for subs? would an ordinary crystal 44mm for a standard PAM case fit?
