Hello,

I've read in a few places that care should be taken when adjusting the date on some PAM's (perhaps with certain types of movements), within a certain timeframe. For example, "do not change the date between the hours of 10 & 2, or something like that. Can someone please clarify a bit further if this is fact; and if so, why is that?

I'll soon receive my first rep, PAM 359 KW with seagull st2555, and don't want to break it by adjusting the date LOL.

Thank you!

Edgar

The date changes from 10:30PM to around 1:00AM. If you get a watch and the time is in between this critical time (in essence you want to interfere with the natural operation of the movement), changing the date may damage the date change mechanism. Safest way to set the date is to turn the time first to 6:00. This is the farthest point the movement can be from a date change so you can put the crown into the second position and then adjust the date. What I do is adjust the date to one day before the actual date and then pull the crown out all the way to the time setting position and then proceed to adjust the time until the date changes as normal.
