Which pams are supposed to have the dagger regulator as opposed to the needle?

You mean the replica or the genuine?

The genuine with manual wind movement, with swan neck regulator all comes with dagger regulator. As for the replica, it's hybrid movement. Vaccum has an extensive article on this.

is there a mod available to change the needle to dagger? Wouldn't that be an enormous giveaway... i've noticed that most of the regulators on the reps are needles... :?

Not to sure about it. Perhaps you can ask vaccum as he dealt with many manual wind movement.

Not as enormous a giveaway as the "Officine Panerai" engraving that is too bold/heavy, too big, misaligned and the wrong shade of blue. :wink:

If someone is "in the know" enough to know that the needle should be a dagger, they'll know it's a rep even with the dagger movement.

Trust me mate,
there are much bigger giveaway signs on PAM reps than reg needle shape 8) ...that should be the least of your worries.

^^^yep...like when the guy across the terminal in the airport has a Panerai on and you notice a blue/purple tint to the face...i don't even have to wonder anymore if it is GEN...that color screams REP and i would consider myself pretty clueless when it comes to spotting them. Heck...i might be wrong with that statement right there.

Not a 100% telltale sign anymore...even the latest historic gen Pams come with A/R with a slight blue hue to it. A/R coat on reps is getting lighter and lighter with every new rep generation, my guess is they'll (gen and rep) meet somewhere 'in the middle' in not so distant future :wink:
