Dabbling in a PAM

Hey guys! I'm a longtime admirer of PAMs but I've never owned one. As I'm sure you guys can tell, I'm a bit of a rolex nut. I want to try out some PAMs so what would be a great starting watch for someone?

Criteria:
- love radiomirs. The simplicity is great.
- big fan of patina (anything that looks brown-ish). My love for vintage watches is showing here.
- My wrists aren't massive. The smaller PAMs would fit better.
- not trying to drop a bucketload on my first PAM.

thoughts?

I would take a look at a 512 -- it doesn't check all of the boxes on your list, but its pretty darn close. Radiomirs wear smaller than their Luminor brothers, so a 45mm Rad feels like a 42mm as compared to a submersible. A close second would be the 346 -- brown dial and titanium case that you can play with to 'vintagize' it. Both are priced below $250 from most TD's.

Happy hunting!

Thanks nalomb. I'll check those out. I'm also interested in the PVD radiomirs as they are just super sexy. Any models you recommend in those?

I'd go with the 292 ceramic before a PVD -- great out of the box rep and a cool piece to add to your collection. On the PVD side, the 532 is the only one I have owned and I love it. It needs AR (even though the gen doesn't have it) to make it clean and it is bigger at 47mm, but it wears like a 44-45mm.

Considering your preferences, I would suggest the PAM613. It is a Radiomir, made of ceramic, has patinated lume and does not cost a lot of cash. ;)

Thanks for the recommendations gents. I've also started looking at vintage PAMs. I have a feeling I've found another set of watches to bankrupt me... oh god.
